Ipswich: Man suffering from signs of hypothermia after falling into water at Wherry Quay early this morning

Fire crews rescued a man from a jetty in Ipswich after he fell into the water.

Firefighters from the town’s princes Street station were called at 1.09am today to Wherry Quay.

The man was showing signs of hypothermia after his fall into the water.

He was rescued by 1.34am and left in the care of paramedics.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance.

The man, in his 20s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital suffering with minor hypothermia.
