A father-of-two who was knocked off his bike in Ipswich has thanked the kind-hearted strangers who rushed to his aid.
Peter Versey was cycling to work along Woodbridge Road, near the Skoda garage, last week when he was clipped by an overtaking car.
He fell off his bike, suffering back and leg injuries in the fall, which left him lying on his back in the road.
He said: “People just stopped what they were doing and came to help me.
“There was a gentleman who stopped and rang an ambulance, a dustbin man was directing traffic around me as I was in the middle of the road.
“The ambulance turned up really quickly and the Ipswich Hospital’s accident and emergency department were excellent.
“I am a bot sore and achy now but it could have been a lot worse.
“I just want to thank them all very much for what they did.”
