AN IPSWICH man who had his front garden pinched by thieves will have his new garden put down today.

Steve Woolnough’s 100sq ft layer of astroturf was stolen sometime between 10.30pm on March 19 and 6am the following day.

But after a month looking at the space where his garden used to be, he will now have a new piece of astroturf laid down today.

City Grass, a company in Nottingham, have agreed to part with the turf for free and they will also be sending their workers down to fit it for Mr Woolnough as well.

Mr Woolnough said: “It just looks like a sand pit at the moment so it’ll be nice to get it back to looking like a front garden.

“It’s quite heartening really, the fact that they’ve offered to do it is great – I’m absolutely chuffed.”
