Ipswich murder trial starts today

SUFFOLK man Terence Abbott will today stand trial for the murder of his estranged Ipswich partner in an alleged fireball attack.
Mum-of-four Lorraine Baldwin died 25 days after an incident at a garden of a semi-detached house in Kestrel Road on Ipswich's Chantry estate.
The alleged fire attack happened at around 5.30pm on April 19, last year.
Former Chantry High School pupil Ms Baldwin, who lived in the west of the town, was taken to Ipswich Hospital before being transferred to the world renowned St Andrew's Burns Unit at Chelmsford's Broomfield Hospital.
She lost her fight for survival three weeks after the alleged attack and died in the Essex hospital on May 15, last year.

Ms Baldwin was 42-years-old, had three daughters and a son and was also a grandmother.
A post mortem examination revealed that the former barmaid for Ipswich Borough Council died of multiple organ failure following extensive burns.
Abbott, who is 52 and from Speedwell Road, Ipswich, has been charged with murdering his former wife (by dousing her with petrol and setting her alight).
His trial was due to start at Norwich Crown Court today and is expected to last between five and eight days.
