The Ipswich Hospital Band along with the St Peter’s and Saints Community Bands were able to present the cheque to the East Anglian Air Ambulance after a successful festive period.
The bands took to the streets to play festive music to entertain festive shoppers at a number of venues in and around the town including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Debenhams and the Wyvale Garden Centre in Woodbridge.
In total the groups raised £5,846.30 with £2,923.15 of this going to the charity.
Oliver Heathcote, publicity officer for Ipswich Hospital band, said: “We would like to thank the public for their generosity.”
The Ipswich Hospital Band have been running for over 40 years. and raise a large amount of money for charity each year with their many performances at fetes, events and other concerts.
