Ipswich: Protestors march through town centre

UNION leaders took their fight against public sector cuts to the streets of Ipswich today.
Representatives from UNISON, Unite, PWC, CWU, NUT, firefighters and student groups waived their placards as they marched from Endeavour House, through the bustling town centre, to the New Wolsey Theatre.
More than 350 public sector workers, enraged by the cuts on spending, possible job loses and the outsourcing of services, gathered in a hushed silence outside the theatre while union leaders rallied further support for the cause.
“We need to introduce a Robin Hood style tax ont he banks and get the money back into the public sector,” said Lucille Thirlby.
