A 20-year-old Ipswich woman who claimed she had been raped in her own home on the Chantry estate has now told police that the attack never took place.
She had claimed she was raped in her own home in the Pelican Close area of the estate on May 24.
The claim sparked a major police hunt – and attracted widespread media interest. A Photofit showing a man in a masked balaclava was released.
Police are now working with other organisations to ensure that the woman gets the support and care she needs.
