The bustling street food stall was a popular addition to this year’s Mela, with Ipswich mayor Sarah Barber among those sampling the cuisine.

Funds raised from the event go towards helping poor communities in Bangladesh.

Current fundraising, which includes the £1,736 raised at the Indian Mela, is going towards eye clinics for those in rural areas of the country.

The foundation will also have a stall at the One Big Multicultural Festival in Alexandra Park on August 27.

Al Tazid chairman Boshor Ali said: “We are inspired by the amazing public support for our charity work, which depends also on a fantastic network of voluntary teamwork.

“It means that all the money we raise goes directly to capital funding for our projects.”
