The Smokehouse music venue in Ipswich is calling for more volunteers to join and gain real work experience while supporting live music as the number of gigs it hosts increases.
The venue, run by community interest company Out Loud Music, has openings for volunteers at front of house, sound and lighting engineers, floor and events managers, bar staff and photographers.
Volunteers are able to gain first-hand industry experience on their way to a career in sound design and engineering or events management, as well as potential for opportunities of paid employment.
Joe Bailey, Out Loud Music director said: “It’s a great opportunity – it looks great on your CV, opportunities sometimes lead to paid employment and you get to help the local music scene thrive.”
Previous volunteers have gone on to paid work in studios and radio.
