Two shoplifters have admitted separately targeting different Sainsbury’s stores in Ipswich to steal Dyson cleaners and alcohol.

Claire Robinson, 34, of Parklands, Ufford, near Woodbridge, pleaded guilty before the town’s magistrates to three counts of theft of Dysons from the company’s Hadleigh Road store on February 22 and March 14.

Magistrates gave Robinson a 12-month community order with a 20-day activity requirement.

The order will include work on Robinson’s alcohol and drug issues, and her emotional well-being. She must also pay Sainsbury’s £200 compensation as two of the cleaners were not recovered.

In a separate hearing Thomas Moore, 26, of no fixed address, admitted four offences of stealing vodka worth £548.50 at Sainsbury’s in Upper Brook Street between March 11 and 13. Moore was released on conditional bail ahead of sentencing on April 5.
