AN Ipswich town centre shopping centre needed to be evacuated today.
Shoppers left the Buttermarket on St Stephens Lane after a fire alarm went off but they were allowed back in after about 10 minutes when it proved to be a false alarm.
The exact reason for the alarm sounding is not yet known but it is believed it may have been because of dust from building work, combined with the heat.
