A sibling hip hop duo from Ipswich have proven you don’t need a lucrative record contract and a big studio to conquer the music industry – as they reached the top 10 of an iTunes chart with their latest album.

Brotherhood, which is made up of Jerome and Byron Ingham, mostly create their music at their home and have no manager, label or media support behind them. They have instead found fame through the internet, with their music videos getting tens of thousands of views on YouTube channel, SBTV. With their popularity growing on the channel, they released their latest album, Love Life Hate The World, earlier this month.

And they were thrilled as it reached number four in the iTunes hip hop album chart.

They believe the internet has been a huge boost to their careers for getting their music out to the masses and communicating with their fans.

Jerome, 27, said: “We released an EP last year and that reached number six and we were happy to top that. We didn’t know it would be possible.”
