An 18-year-old man suffered a bruised eye socket after a man assaulted him in Silent Street at around 1.30am on Friday.

A teenager was assaulted in a late-night street attack in Ipswich’s town centre.

An 18-year-old man suffered a bruised eye socket after a man assaulted him in Silent Street at around 1.30am on Friday.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man was walking in the street and began speaking to a group of four men.

“One of the men assaulted the victim, causing a bruised eye socket and soreness to the cheek.”

The offender is described as a white man, around 6ft tall, had short blonde spiked hair and was wearing a white t-shirt.

Witnesses or people with information are sought. Call police on 101.
