Ipswich: Time for a special visitor as Tardis materialises at Portman Road?

IPSWICH: There was extra time at Portman Road last night – even before Ipswich and Birmingham took to the field for the Championship match.

The Doctor’s Tardis arrived beside Sir Alf Ramsey to delight fans of the iconic sci-fi series... and to encourage them to book up for the Crash of the Elysium – the special Dr Who experience that is coming to the town during the summer.

The Tardis is on a tour of East Anglia, and although the Doctor himself was nowhere to be seen this was his real method of transport.

At least it was the real Tardis so far as tenth Doctor David Tennant was concerned – it was the magic box that propelled him to adventures across many universes and dimensions.

Like the Doctor, the Tardis itself has been regenerated for Matt Smith – but keen fan Max Geater and his father, Star reporter Paul Geater, could not resist inspecting it as sat on the junction between Portman Road and Sir Alf Ramsey Way.

The Crash of the Elysium will be coming to the Crown Car Park in the town centre from June 15 to July 8.

Tickets are selling very fast – there are both adult and child-friendly performances and tickets for some of these are already in short supply.
