The Boots store in Tavern Street, Ipswich, has been evacuated after a smell of burning was reported – but fire crews have confirmed it was a false alarm.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue was alerted at 12.12pm, and has sent a fire engine each from Princes Street and east Ipswich to the scene.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the store had been evacuated and closed off to the public and a fire alarm had been sounded.
A spokesman from Suffolk Fire and Rescue said firefighters investigated but found it to be a false alarm.
It is believed the smoke alarm may have been triggered by dust.
The crews left the scene at around 12.45pm, with the store re-opened again as normal.
