A 17-year-old male arrested after armed police responded to reports of a gun being brandished in Ipswich town centre early yesterday has been released on bail.
The youth was arrested on suspicion of carrying a firearm or imitation following the incident in St Matthew’s Street at 4.20am, during which a handgun - believed to be gas-powered - was recovered.
He was taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
A police spokesman today said the suspect had been bailed until February 18.
