Planet Blue was packed with young families at a meet and greet session with players Martyn Waghorn, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Mustapha Carayol, Stephen Gleeson, Aaron Drinan, and Andre Dozzell yesterday. Ipswich face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday (midday). Boss Mick McCarthy will be hoping to give the Blues a first derby win since 2009.

Jonny Brome, who brought along children Alfie, seven, and Archie, five, said: “We need to get behind the team and show support.

“Fans are creating dead atmospheres. It can get frustrating but that isn’t going to help.”

Rachel Goode, 19, said: “The North stand is very ‘Mick Out’ but we’re not (Co-op stand). He’s done a good job. I’ll take a draw at Norwich.”

Lisa Calver, 30, of Ipswich, who brought children Ella, seven, and Harley, five, added: “The fans must lift the boys.”
