Two men approached an 18-year-old woman outside a Suffolk college and demanded her phone and purse, police have said.
The teenager was standing near Suffolk New College at about 8.40pm last night, when the two men attempted to rob her.
Both men are described as white, in their early 20s, with local accents.
One was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and hoody, and is described as being about 5ft 6in tall and skinny.
The second is described as being 5ft 7in tall, skinny, with short light brown hair. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a plain white top.
The men fled the scene empty-handed when they were approached by a member of the public.
