Motorists have reported sitting in long queues on one of Ipswich’s major routes this morning.
Roadworks to reconstruct a pedestrian crossing in Greyfriars Road are taking place until Friday, and a lane closure is in place until then.
Suffolk Highways chiefs have warned on their roadworks.org tool that the roadworks are likely to have a ‘high impact’, suggesting disruption is likely while the work is carried out.
According to the AA’s traffic map, drivers are currently facing delays of up to 20 minutes.
The works are mainly affecting motorists attempting to get into town.
