The woman who died in the Bramford Road van crash, on Monday, has been named as Helen Scoines, 48.

The 46-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has also been bailed by Suffolk Police pending further inquiries.

The crash, which happened just a few hundred yards from her home, involved a white Vauxhall Combo van and happened at approximately 11.10pm on Monday night.

The vehicle collided with a wall and traffic lights close to the junction with Sproughton Road.

Helen Scoines, from Lone Barn Court, Ipswich was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man from Ipswich who was arrested will be required to return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on Thursday December 4.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision. Anyone who saw the vehicle travelling along Bramford Road either prior to or when the collision happened is asked to call the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team on 101 quoting IW/14/3495 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
