One of Ipswich’s biggest supermarkets recently stopped opening 24 hours a day.

Now we’re asking readers if they think the demand for an around-the-clock shopping experience is still there.

Asda at the Whitehouse Industrial Estate in Ipswich now closes its doors to shoppers at midnight.

The Sainsbury’s stores at Warren Heath and Hadleigh Road both shut at 10pm while the Sproughton Road Morrisons also closes at this time.

Discount store Aldi stops serving customers at its Hines Road, Meredith Road and Scrivener Drive shops at 10pm while LIDL opens its London Road store until 9pm.

But the Tesco Extra at Copdock still opens 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday - and reduces opening times at weekends.

The Tesco store at Martlesham is also open around the clock during the week.

All of the town’s Waitrose stores shut at 8pm Monday to Thursday and close at 9pm on Fridays.

We want to know what readers think – has the appetite for 24-hour supermarkets changed?
