A PRIVATELY-owned Woodbridge freehouse is continuing to remain open as normal although the owner has received planning permission to turn it into a residential property.

The Seckford Arms, Seckford Street, is still being run as a pub and owner Ellen Holyoak said she wished to assure customers that it would remain open for the foreseeable future.

Permission has been given by Suffolk Coastal District Council for the premises to be turned into a house and this will give Mrs Holyoak greater scope when trying to sell the building. She has spent many years in the licensed trade and she would like to sell the pub and move away from the property.
