Jack and the Beanstalk is to be this winter's pantomime at Ipswich's Regent theatre, venue bosses today announced.
Due to feature an animatronic giant and celebrity cast the pantomime will run for 37 performances from December 19 2009 to January 10 2010.
Theatre manager David Mansfield said: “I'm pleased to announce the title of this year's pantomime at the Regent. It is a giant of a panto and tickets go on sale today . We'll be announcing an all-star cast later in the year.”
Produced by Duo Entertainment, the company which was responsible for recent Regent productions Peter Pan, Snow White, Cinderella and Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk will include characters such as panto dame Dame Trot, Daisy the Cow, King Crumble, the giant's evil henchman Fleshcreep and the traditional Good Fairy.
Judy Terry, Ipswich Borough Councillor with responsibility for arts, culture and leisure, said: “I am delighted with this year's choice and with recession-busting tickets starting at just 5 we're looking forward to another great panto.”
Tickets are from 5 and are available from the Regent box office on 01473 433100.
