Firefighters and police are at the scene of a car fire on the A14, near Bucklesham.

The car, thought to be a Jaguar, was described as “well alight” by the first police officers at the scene on the A14 Seven Hills junction.

The vehicle blaze is being tackled by two fire engine crews from Ipswich, with the car blocking the westbound off slip.

The slip road has been closed by police and drivers should expect congestion in the area.

The fire was reported to emergency services at around 5pm today (April 20).

The occupants of the car are reported to be safe and well and were able to escape.

Two fire engines were still at the scene as of 5.30pm, one from Ipswich East and the other from Princes Street station.
