UP to 200 people could lose their jobs and a respite centre for elderly people could close as part of a shake-up of care services in Suffolk.
Suffolk County Council is to review all of its day care and home care services to ensure they are providing value for money and, as part of this, a consultation is due to start on the future of the Cherryfields residential respite centre in Bramford.
A statement released by the council said: “Discussions have begun with trade unions about the possibility of shedding a number of posts.
“This could see the equivalent of around 200 full time posts being affected by the end of this financial year.”
