An employee at cruise line firm Fred Olsen raised £500 for Cancer Research UK last week by braving a painful leg wax.
Publications executive Jody Sparrow endured the painful peel at the firm’s head office in White House Road, Ipswich, on Monday, raising sponsorship of £500 for his efforts.
Jody opted to tackle the challenge in memory of his mother Jan, who died of breast cancer in 2003 aged just 49.
Sponsorship from the leg wax coupled with fundraising ahead of the Great East Run next weekend left Jody feeling overwhelmed at the support he has received.
He said: “I couldn’t have dreamed it would go so ‘smoothly’, and a huge thank-you to everyone who has donated so far or helped out in any way, shape of form.
“I think this is an appropriate challenge – to go through some pain for such a fantastic cause.”
