ACT is organising several afternoon quizzes at the Saints Winter Beer and Wine Festival this month.

Suffolk charity, ACT (Anglia Care Trust) is hosting a series of quizzes at the Saints Winter Beer and Wine Festival this month, raising money to support its services.

A huge array of real ale, craft beers, world wines and homemade cakes will be available at the festival (from 12noon, Friday, December 29 and Saturday, December 30 at St Peter’s by the Waterfront) with entertainment provided by GrapevineLIVE in the evenings.

But if you’re looking to blow out your mental cobwebs after a week of Christmas feasting, organisers suggest you visit the festival during the afternoons to take part in the quizzes at 1pm and 4pm. Teams can sign up now for a discounted fee of £25 per table (maximum six people).

ACT director Jane Simpson, says: “We’re delighted to have been chosen by Beer & Co as their supported charity, and look forward to welcoming people to a whole host of fun with ‘quiz and cake’, raffles and the best in entertainment. This will really help to support our services that give people the stability and support they need to enable them to realise their full potential: helping them to keep a roof over their heads, stay safe and be heard.”

Greg Cooper of festival organiser Beer & Co adds: “Beer & Co are really pleased to be able to support the work of ACT. The afternoon quizzes are a great way for friends and colleagues to get involved too, and the addition of cake (with a little fizz?) will, I am sure, go down well on a wintery day.

“The evening music sessions include a Nonsuch DJ set on Friday and West End Music Open Mic on Saturday, which will also create a great atmosphere.”

Entry to the festival is £3 on the door. To pre-register for one of the quizzes go to the Beer & Co website.
