CALLING all budding Byron's - poems written by Suffolk people are needed for a competition which will celebrate National Poetry Day.

Entries, which should be based on the theme of Journeys, are invited from various age groups.

There are also categories for family learning and writing groups. Poems from schools and those written in a language other than English are particularly welcomed.

Those who don't fancy putting pen to paper can have the opportunity to be a cyber-critic instead. Shortlisted poems will be published on the Suffolk County Council website and your views on the entries will help the judges with their final decision.

Entry forms can be obtained from all Suffolk libraries. Poems can also be submitted at www.suffolkcc.gov.uk/libraries/poetry_day. The competition closes on October 26.
