The success of a Suffolk community recycling centre has been recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Foxhall Household Waste Recycling Centre, owned by Suffolk County Council, took home the title of Civic Amenity Site of the Year at the 2017 excellence in recycling and waste management awards.
The award was picked up at the ceremony, against competition from the London borough of Hillingdon, Reading and South Tyne and Wear, and recognises innovation, dedication and success within the waste and recycling industries.
Foxhall Recycling Centre is run with the help of East Anglian based charity the Benjamin Foundation.
The council’s head of waste services, Steve Palfrey, said: “These improvements have enhanced our customers’ experience at the site, which is something everyone is extremely proud of.
“And we’re delighted that residents have also really supported the new reuse shop.”
