Junior doctors at Ipswich Hospital are among those taking part in the second organised 24-hour strike in a protest over pay and conditions.

The strike, which began at 8am this morning, comes talks between the government and British Medical Association (BMA) failed to lead to a compromise over a new proposed contract.
A total of 80 outpatient appointments have been cancelled at Ipswich Hospital, on Heath Road, today where campaigners can be seen protesting over changes to their contracts, including seven-day working.
However, hospital bosses have confirmed that no operations have been called off and the hospital’s accident and emergency department remains open.
Nick Hulme, chief executive of the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, said: “Everyone is working hard together, especially junior doctors, to make sure that we are able to give safe, high quality, compassionate care for patients.
“We are hoping for business as normal with the minimum of disruption for patients.
“Every member of the clinical teams will be working throughout the hospital. If we have not contacted you and you do have an appointment with us, please do keep it.”

Yesterday, health chiefs urged people to do their part to relieve pressure on A&E.
An Ipswich and East Suffolk and West Suffolk CCG spokesman, added: “People are asked to use pharmacies or call NHS 111 instead of visiting hospitals.
“Family doctors and nurses are expecting to be busy, so please consider if your condition is urgent.”
Across England at least 2,884 operations have been cancelled.
It follows on from strike action held last month which resulted in the postponement of procedures across the country.
