The jury in the trial of two men accused of attempting to rape a woman has been shown CCTV footage of the men following her through Ipswich.

George-hari Constantinescu and Danut Gheorghie are alleged to have followed the woman as she walked along Tacket Street, Orwell Place, Eagle Street and into Rope Walk where she was allegedly assaulted in a car park.

Constantinescu and Gheorghie, both 30, and of Farnham Road, Blaxhall, near Woodbridge, have denied attempted rape and an alternative charge of sexual assault.

Ipswich Crown Court has heard that the alleged victim was walking along Rope Walk just before 3.30am on February 25 when she heard two men running behind her.

One of them allegedly put his hands over her mouth and she was bundled into a car park.

During the alleged attack she suffered injuries to her head and face and lost consciousness and when she came round she was naked from the waist down.

The trial continues.
