A ball held at a Suffolk wedding venue raised £4,200 for charity.

The Venue at Kersey Mill hosted an end of summer charity ball to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and more than 120 people attended the event.

Danielle Watson, event organiser, said: “We wanted to support Macmillan as we know so many families that have been affected by this horrible disease, including our own.

“We were overwhelmed by the support that we received from everyone that came on the night, as well as those that were unable to attend but sent messages of support or donations.”

The event also included a raffle, charity auction, food and a DJ set.

Helen Taggart, local fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are extremely grateful to Danielle and the team for hosting this event, and choosing to help us fund Macmillan’s cancer services in Suffolk. With their help, we can continue to support local families affected by cancer through our Macmillan nurses, financial support service and free information and support line. We hope everyone had a fantastic time on the night, and we simply cannot thank them enough for their support.”
