Peter Turnball stumbled upon one of the retail chain’s competition Christmas globes while shopping in Leeds a fortnight ago, winning a visit from the store’s ‘Snow experts’.

Peter gifted the experience to his grandchildren Lily Grace, eight, and Harry, 13, as he wanted them to experience a white Christmas for the first time.

Using equipment used in the film industry, eight cubic metres of real snow were delivered to the family’s home last week.

Peter’s daughter Jo said: “It’s been an amazing day.

“Such a nice surprise for the kids, way better than what we had expected.”

Deborah Dolce, group brand and marketing manager at TK Maxx, said: “We know that lots of people dream of a white Christmas and it’s a special way to bring friends and family together.”
