Kesgrave Town Council has laid on an event to help older people who struggle to get out or experience loneliness.

On Wednesday, August 16, Kesgrave Town Council will be transporting people to The Hut in Felixstowe, which has been hired from the Felixstowe Old People’s Welfare Association, and feature a chance to walk along the promenade and fish and chip dinner.

A Kesgrave Town Council spokeswoman said: “The senior citizen’s outing has been a popular event for a number of years, this year there has been a change from the traditional mystery tour to a typical British day at the seaside. The council organizes a number of events for families and for young people, with this event we aim to provide a stress-free afternoon for senior citizens. A number of local volunteers help us on the day so that it is accessible for anyone over retirement age who would like to be included.”
