VIOLENT Chudi Eze is today behind bars after kidnapping a man and subjecting his victim to seven hours of physical and mental torture.

Eze, an alleged drugs dealer, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Norwich Crown Court yesterday for kidnapping one of his drugs runners, Muhidin Muhidin.

The court heard how Eze stripped his victim, beat him about the face, and kicked him about.

He placed a hot iron against his face so that the burn mark in the shape of an iron shows on his face, struck him in the mouth, forced hamster food down his throat, forced him to consume Class A drugs, and forced him to drink Eze's urine.

Eze, 21, formerly of Beaconsfield Road, Ipswich, was found guilty unanimously by a jury after deliberating for two hours and 20 minutes for falsely imprisoning Muhidin Muhidin and assaulting him on September 16 last year and of making unwarranted demands with menaces for money.

Another man, twenty-one year-old South African Sebastian Lawrence, of no fixed address, changed his plea and admitted his guilt half way through the trail and will be sentenced when a pre-sentence report is ready.

A third man who also involved did not appear at court.

Det Insp John Quinton who dealt with the case said: "This was part of operation crackdown in relation to the drugs scene in Ipswich.

"We are delighted with the result that the jury came to."

DI Quinton said officers had been working with the victim since September, giving him the support to come to court.

He was a drugs runner who had been attacked by the dealers.

DI Quinton said: "There may be incidents like this that go unreported but in this case the guy has come forward and we thoroughly investigate everything.

"From our perspective the victim is a man who has been severely beaten and tortured to an extent.

"It has been more than six months from the offence to the conviction and a lot of work had to go in to reassuring him."

He said that these kind of attacks do not happen every day of the week and though they take place across the country, they happen to a lesser extent in Suffolk and Ipswich.

He said that justice had been done in this case and that the victim had gone the extra mile to see it done.

During the trial, the court had heard from John Farmer, prosecuting, that Eze believed the victim owed him £340 following a drugs deal.

Via a video link Muhidin had told the court that he and a friend had worked briefly for Eze as a drugs runner.

When he stopped working for Eze there was a dispute over whether any stock and proceeds had been returned to Eze.

Mitigating for Eze, Philip Sutton said that three men had been involved and it could not be proved what Eze's position was in the group. Eze had committed the majority of the actions, but was that because "he was the leader or was it because physically he was the "Big Man" Eze, a powerfully built 6ft 5ins, is nicknamed "Shogun" because of his size."
