A KITE surfer was rescued after getting into difficulties near the notorious Deben Bar at Felixstowe Ferry.
The Harwich-based Inshore lifeboat was launched at 7.20pm on Saturday after the surfer fell off his board and became entangled with the kite's rigging.
A jet ski stood by him until the emergency services arrived, but the rider was unable to tow him to shore.
The kite surfer was freed by the lifeboat crew and taken with his board to the beach.
