A FEMALE Ipswich police officer was taken to hospital with leg injuries after being hurt by a knife.
The incident happened as the officer assisted with restraining a detainee at the police station in Civic Drive at 12.20am today
A police spokesman said her knee went in to the knife as opposed to her having been stabbed and no assault charges would be brought against the other person involved.
The officer had been taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance where her wound was stitched and she was allowed home.
