A SUFFOLK post office was targeted by robbers today – for the second time this year.

Two men held the sub-postmaster at Hacheston, near Wickham Market, at knifepoint while they took money from the premises.

The raid took place shortly before 9am today.

The postmaster was taken to the toilet at knifepoint and a paper bag was taped over his head and mouth.

He was not physically injured.

Today's raid was by two male raiders.

Both were described as five feet 11 inches tall. One was white with dark cropped hair wearing a blue fleece, blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

The other was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Inspector Stuart Hudson, the senior investigating officer said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim.

"We need anyone who saw anything unusual in the area of the post office in the past few days to contact us urgently."

Hacheston Post Office was raided on January 31 when postmaster Graham Westley was held up by a raider apparently with a weapon hidden in a carrier bag.

On that occasion the raider made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

At the time Mr Westley's co-manager Carol Leonard said he was badly shaken but unhurt – and the post office re-opened after security measures were reviewed.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 01473-613500 or crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
