THREE servicemen from Suffolk are among hundreds of Korean War veterans who are travelling to London to be granted the freedom of the City.

Former Royal Fusiliers Brian Crascall, of Needham Market, Rex Sheppard , of Felixstowe, and Russell Collins, of Ipswich, are attending a memorial tomorrow to colleagues killed during the war, and will be honoured with a ceremony at the Tower of London.

The service which is expected to be attended by scores of former Fusiliers from across the region, will mark 50 years since Operation Pimlico, in which 22 members of a platoon were either killed or reported missing.

The Suffolk trio were members of the City of London regiment who served in Korea for just over a year. They will march to the Chapel Royal of Peter ad Vincula at the Tower of London, which is the depot of the Fusiliers, for an inspection, dedication service and "lots of reminiscing".
