Latest artist impressions for the revamped Broomhill Lido have been revealed by architects – with the latest designs highlighting the vibrant space’s potential.
The historic Grade II-listed pool in Sherrington Road closed in 2002 after 64 years of use, and following a decade of neglect plans have been underway to restore the pool to its former glory.
In September, developer Fusion Lifestyle and architects KLH revealed the first indicative artist impressions of the revamp, including a complete restoration of the pool, clock tower renovation, cafe, fitness suite and exhibition of the pool’s history.
Now KLH and Fusion Lifestyle have published more artist impressions, which developers have said are indicative only.
Final designs and developments are still underway as the consultation for the pool’s design continues.
The multi-million pound restoration project has already gained Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) backing of £180,000.
Tim Mills, director of business development at Fusion Lifestyle, said: “The pool is an iconic building with beautiful design details that deserves to be restored to its former glory as one of the town’s landmarks.”
The final design proposals will be used as part of a second stage application to the HLF’s Heritage Enterprise scheme.
