The babygrow, designed by St John Ambulance, is available from 9.45am to 4.30pm on October 13 with a suggested donation going to the charity.

The colourful garment, for three to six-month-olds, instructs parents how to perform life-saving CPR of their baby after they have called for an ambulance.

The campaign goes alongside a new Youtube video designed to help parents remember what to do.

Gemma Martin, regional training manager for St John Ambulance in the east said: “Working with Tesco gives us a great opportunity to help spread the incredibly important lesson of baby CPR to millions of parents.

“We hope the worst will never happen but the babygrow, and our online video, shows parents what to do in a very clear and simple way.

“Pick one up on October 13 or keep an eye out for give-aways if you can’t make it in-store.”

Michelle McEttrick, group brand director at Tesco, said: We’re delighted to be supporting St John Ambulance in bringing this life saving lesson to parents.”
