BOMB disposal teams detonated a hand grenade at a home in Ipswich today at around 1.15pm.
Stewart Stringer, of Mumford Road, was walking his dogs at Bramford Water Meadows when he found the live grenade in a newly ploughed field at 8am.
He said: I didn't want to leave it there because there were children playing in the area and lots of people walk their dogs around there.
“I picked it up and popped it in the back of my car with the dogs and got it home.”
Mr Stringer alerted the bomb disposal unit at 11am and within half an hour they were on the site.
