An Ipswich community interest company which helps NEETs into paid work by helping clean for older, vulnerable or low income adults, has been awarded £5,000 of grand funding.

Lofty Heights creates paid employment and training for NEETs (not in education, employment or training) by carrying out deep-cleaning, garden clearance and de-cluttering work for older members of the community.

The organisation visited five of Ipswich Borough Council’s area committees, where it was awarded a combined sum of £5,040 towards the cost of a new van, reducing costs and allowing them to run an additional team.

The report said: “Lofty Heights is passionate about creating employment for, and raising the aspirations of young people.

“Rather than formal qualifications, the organisation values skills such as motivation, commitment, trust, honesty and teamwork.”
