YOUNG people all over Suffolk are being invited to "log on and win", with the launch of a unique new website.

All Suffolk young people who send in their e-mail address in the first 12 hours will have the chance to win a brand new digital camera and X-box games console worth around £200.

The site is being launched at four locations simultaneously across Suffolk and young people can also log on at home or at school to put their name into the draw for the prize.

Called www.thesource.me.uk, will provide a unique source of local, independent information, advice and support for Suffolk teenagers, including school, work and training choices, health, drugs, relationships and other lifestyle issues. They can also go on-line to get relevant personal information and to share their views and information with others. A chat room is also planned where real-time advice and support can be provided.

The site is being launched by Connexions Suffolk, the new government-funded agency launched in the county last year, which provides local independent information, advice and support for all young people aged 13-19. Connexions links all agencies which provide services for young people – including the youth service, voluntary organisations, schools, colleges and training providers.

Connexions provides trained personal advisers for all young people in the county – the website will mean that young people can get professional, independent information and advice from anywhere with an internet connection, without having to travel or make special appointments.
