TRAVELLERS heading for Suffolk were facing long delays tonight after the A14 was closed in both directions in Northamptonshire.
The closure came after two lorries collided and one burst into flames.
Police said the accident, at junctions eight and nine at Kettering, was reported at 9.06pm.
The road has been closed while fire crews deal with the blaze and also work to establish what the vehicles were carrying.
Both drivers were taken to Coventry Hospital after the crash - one by air ambulance and one by land ambulance - but the extent of their injuries is unknown.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said it was anticipated the section of the A14 would remain closed for some time.
