Five heavy goods vehicles were following a diversion due to the closure of the A14 eastbound when they claim to have been shot between the junctions of Gulpher Road and Church Lane.

It is thought the weapon was an airgun.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: “None of the drivers were injured, but in each case the vehicle cabs sustained damage.”

Officers are appealing for information after the reported incidents.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to contact Felixstowe Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 quoting reference 4208/18, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
