Lorry driver hurt in crash

A LORRY driver is recovering in hospital today after his vehicle plunged into a ditch near Hadleigh.

The 35-year-old sustained shoulder and arm injuries in the single vehicle accident at 10.

The 35-year-old sustained shoulder and arm injuries in the single vehicle accident at 10.46 yesterday morning.

Fire fighters released the trapped man on the A1141 Bildeston to Hadleigh road at Semer village.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to Ipswich Hospital after the lorry turned over onto its side.

Fire engines from Hadleigh, Nayland and a pump rescue vehicle from Ipswich attended the incident.

And last night a motorcyclist was taken to Ipswich Hospital following a crash with a car in the town.

The accident happened just after 5pm in Whitton Church Lane and police had to close the road for a short while as they dealt with the incident.

An ambulance was called and took the injured rider to the hospital in Heath Road.

Meanwhile, a 48-year-old female motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a leg injury following an accident in Melton on Sunday.

She also suffered cuts and bruises in the 11.01 am incident outside the Horse and Groom pub.

An ambulance came to her aid and the unnamed woman was treated at Ipswich Hospital.
