Suffolk police are appealing for witnesses after a lorry failed to stop following a collision on the Orwell Bridge in Ipswich this afternoon.

The crash happened on the A14 westbound shortly before 4.10pm today, Wednesday, June 28, and involved a Volkswagen Golf and a lorry.

No-one was injured in the collision although the inside lane of the carriageway was blocked for around 10 minutes while officers attended the scene.

Police are appealing for the lorry driver to come forward as they failed to stop following the collision.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the collision had caused some disruption to traffic on the bridge while the vehicle was recovered

Officers are also interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the collision.
