AN INVESTIGATION is today underway after a lorry was left balancing over the edge of a bridge.
The heavy goods vehicle was also leaking petrol into a river, prompting a response from the Environment Agency.
The accident happened at around 7.30pm yesterday on the Brent Eleigh Road between Monks Eleigh and Sudbury, close to the River Brett.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the lorry left the road while travelling on the bridge.
He said part of the bridge had to be demolished and that emergency services were expecting the road to be closed all weekend for repair work.
The lorry driver was not believed to have been injured.
