A DRIVER trapped in his lorry after it rolled over and spilt its load of beans across the A134 has been released and taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called at 1.10pm this afternoon following reports that a lorry had rolled onto its side at the Acton junction near Long Melford.

Police and firecrews cleared beans from one of the lanes to allow traffic to keep flowing while firefighters attempted to release the trapped driver.

He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital but no confirmation of his condition has been released.

A police spokesman said traffic is moving south on the A134 from Bury St Edmunds towards Sudbury but north bound traffic is being diverted through Long Melford.

A local farmer is currently helping emergency services clear the remaining beans form the road.
